Tai Chi

Tai Chi is a gentle exercise often described as meditation in motion. According to Harvard Health Publications: “There is growing evidence that this mind-body practice, which originated in China as a martial art, has value in treating or preventing many health problems. And you can get started even if you aren't in top shape or the best of health.”

In this class, students learn the Yang Tai Chi Long Form.

Qigong is a system of postures and flowing movements similar to its successor Tai Chi. Both Qigong and Tai Chi are designed to reduce stress, improve health, and increase wellbeing.  Qigong movements are shorter and much easier to master than the longer Tai Chi sequences. In this class, Qigong will be learned as the foundation for Tai Chi practice.  

Chi (Qi)

Tai Chi and Qigong build up and release an extraordinary flow of natural bio-electric energy (qi) within us. By releasing and moving qi, we can raise our body and mind to remarkable heights of health and well-being.  When practiced regularly, Tai Chi and Qigong are proven techniques that can enhance one’s health and vitality.
