The Mindful Athlete: Swarthmore College Men’s Tennis

Strengthen your mental-emotional game, empowering yourself with mindful athlete skills.

This is a weekly class during the spring semester from February - April.

Mindful athlete skills will be introduce and practiced throughout the semester. Mindful movement will be integrated into the program to increase proprioception and develop an increased sense of presence while competing. These practices strengthen the athlete’s mental and emotional “muscle” thereby improving performance and increasing the frequency and duration of flow states.

Mindfulness for Coaches & Athletes

Swarthmore College (by invitation only)

To increase athletic performance, mindfulness and acceptance-based practices are an empirically supported intervention (Gardner & Moore, 2012).

Mindfulness increases athletic performance by building skills that create and sustain flow states. Coaches will learn research-based mindfulness practices that strengthen athleticism by supporting individuals and teams being in the zone.
